  • Condition: This hard-to-find 1940 poster is 27" X 40" (non-linen backed) and is conservatively rated C8 for the following: a slight pinhole in the middle of the poster (due to folding), and slight paper loss on only the white borders. The two-tone color remains vibrant and would be a perfect poster for linen backing or framing. Due to its age, the one-sheet poster is hard-to-find and is a great piece that hung in theaters in the 1940s. It is NOT A COPY, a REPRODUCTION, and is a guaranteed ORIGINAL.     Description

    The 1940 Movie "The Island of Doomed Men" was first in American theaters with the 27" X 40" red & white two-tone poster. In a later remake (1956), a color poster of the movie was made. You are bidding on the one-sheet (folded) original. This is a beautiful vintage original movie poster and was part of my original movie collection for years. I am now auctioning my whole collection of movie and theater posters. This poster has been auctioned or purchased for anywhere between 0 - 0 dollars.
