20th Century Fox Original Insert Poster (14x36) Restored Very Good Plus Condition
20th Century Fox U.S. insert poster (145x36) from the well-loved wartime musical ORCHESTRA WIVES (1942) starring George Montgomery, Ann Rutherford, Lynn Bari, Cesar Romero, Carole Landis and featuring the great Glenn Miller and His Orchestra. Because of this movie we are able to have first class footage of the most famous and prolific of the U.S. Big Bands of the World War II period. There can be no doubt that the Glenn Miller Orchestra were The Beatles of their generation, defining in the large part the musical footprint of the wartime years. The movie is built around a show biz soap opera, with a serviceable cast and some great musical moments. The poster features a terrific image of Glenn Miller with his trombone. This insert was somewhat worn, but with no missing paper, so we had the poster professionally restored and paper-backed. The result is beautiful. We have graded the poster as very good plus.
