    Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27x41) of the Vincente Minnelli musical comedy, THE PIRATE (1948) starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly. Both stars are at the peak of their careers. Garland is spellbinding in many of her songs, and Kelly is his most graceful and agile. With wonderful songs by Cole Porter, Minnelli makes sumptuous use of color, costumes, and sets to make one of the most exuberant musicals in MGM history. The dance numbers are particularly excellent, especially ÒBe A ClownÓ with Kelly and the Nicholas Brothers. This original stone lithograph one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
