Original One-Sheet Poster
Folded as originally distributed to theaters.
Republic made this anti-Communist FILM NOIR at the height of the HUAC hearings and public hysteria over Communism and post-War Soviet territorial ambitions.
Color is outstanding. It was obviously never used or mounted anywhere.
Far less fold separation than one would expect for a lightweight paper poster that is over 20 years old.
Bottom margin has some
very
short tears with paper folds at a couple spots (which unfold easily).
Only one spot with paper loss and it is extremely small and confined to the margin.
I see no reason for any restoration at all. It will mount, frame, and present excellently as is.
I do suggest any buyer with that ambition to use only acid-free materials, polycarbonate rather than glass, nad display away from direct sunlight and sources of persistent light.
Do not confuse this with the reproduction prints. They are worthless to collectors and archivists, but constitute the vast majority on the market.
